A full day of Food, FREE Entertainment and fun from the 1800's At Sidney’s Legion Park by the Gazebo!

At the end of a hard day’s work, there’s nothing better than a good, hot cup of coffee and a home-cooked meal.

In the 1800’s not only was the food different, so was the means of preparation. One of the favorite means of cooking on the trail was the Dutch Oven. Everything from the wonderful stews to the delicious apple or peach cobbler could be cooked that way. And it all tasted so good! It takes time and skill, but is well worth the effort. Gold Rush Days is a good time to see and sample firsthand Dutch Oven cooking done the right way. On Gold Rush Days start your morning with the traditional biscuits and gravy and lots of coffee.

There will also be a number of food vendors featuring bar-b-que, and award winning pies!

Live Entertainment

For folks who lived in the late 1800’s, life was not easy! But it wasn’t all work. One favorite pastime was to get together in the town square and enjoy a meal together. While the grown-ups talked and shared the latest news, the kids played a variety of games. Sometimes the adults couldn’t help but show those kids a thing or two about having fun! Many times there were contests to see who could run the fastest, or whose horse was the fastest. It was a time to relax and have fun. Gold Rush Days is a time to remember those hardworking, but fun-loving folks who made this community what it is today. Come join us on the 2nd Saturday in June for Gold Rush Days at Sidney Legion Park and enjoy live music, games, food and other wholesome family entertainment. Don’t forget the Frontier Village where you can experience life in the 1800’s.
